PermanentMechanical Maintenance Fitter
Location: Purfleet
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Mon-Fri 8 hrs per Day
We're looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to carry out planned and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and keep our plant operating at peak performance.
What you'll do:
- Perform scheduled maintenance on heavy machinery and material handling systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime
- Support major shutdowns and overhauls
- Ensure safety compliance and accurate maintenance records
What we're looking for:
- Strong mechanical skills (hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, drive systems)
- Ability to read technical drawings and use diagnostic tools
- Recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical or welding/fabrication disciplines
- Experience with preventative maintenance and fault finding
- Solid knowledge of safety procedures, including LOTOTO, confined space entry, and working at height
- Comfortable working in industrial environments
