Senior EV Engineer in Essex

ContractOur client is expanding into EV and growing Electrified Systems Engineering team to enable this vision.
Happy to support training and help build the experience you need.
This role will focus on delivering HVEDS and HV commodities within the Commercial Vehicle space, ensuring that deliverables / targets and program attribute targets are met.
Skills Required:
- Integrate ESE applications and Battery Unit into integration and program project management and delivery processes.
- Engage other business functions to spread awareness of Electrified technologies, cascade new requirements relevant to those functions and resource and timing implications
- Responsible for weekly ESE SPMT/CPMT, issue resolution, health-chart, design reviews, gateway and milestone reviews as required.
- Manage program timing and work planning to ensure deliverables are met on time with quality.
- Track and deliver ESE system costs, tooling, resource and prototype material planning
- Development and ownership of system BOM and manage releasing process.
- Support all GPDS deliverables for EPE Applications D&R, including specification and tracking of supplier GPDS deliverables.
- Support EPE DV and Validation activities. Complete GPDS quality deliverables, including FMEA and robustness analysis, quality history and lessons learned.
- Actively support program sourcing strategies in line with Purchasing, Finance and Program timing needs
- Interface with US ESE core team, unit team, CAD team, CAE team, other e-component D&Rs, component suppliers, and vehicle teams as required.
Experience Required:
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Demonstrable knowledge of current high voltage EV technologies along with implications of integrating into existing and new vehicle platforms.
- Knowledge of current hybrid & EV systems and their application in Ford products
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technically challenging projects working cross functionally.
- Demonstrable experience of working independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with excellent team building skills, taking responsibility and accountability.
Working Knowledge:
- TeamCentre (view / modify) and CAD model reviews
- Ford engineering systems and processes
- GPDS
- Managing engineering deliverables
- Bill of Material tracking and reporting
- Financial control and reporting
- Electrified powertrain key components and systems
Desirable experience
- Some experience of EDS design and DT process is desirable.
- An understanding of CAE processes FE etc is desirable.
- Ability to quickly obtain and grow knowledge in a rapidly developing technology.
- Must have valid UK or EU driving licence.
