Case Study
Building a complete project delivery team in four weeks
The challenge
A contractor needed to build a project-specific site team for a major data centre development in South Wales. The ten-month project involved the installation of several thousand tonnes of structural steelwork, but the client wanted to avoid permanent hires for a time-limited requirement.
ARM’s approach
After being recommended to the contractor, ARM met with the client to understand the project and precise site requirements. We identified and vetted suitable freelance specialists, including checking relevant site, health & safety and management certifications in advance.
These included CSCS, Black Card SMSTS and CPCS A61 Appointed Person for lift planning, alongside other relevant health & safety and site-management credentials. Two of the candidates were professionals our Structural Steel team already knew.
The outcome
Within four weeks, ARM delivered the complete four-person team: a Project Manager, Senior Site Manager, Site Manager and Health & Safety Advisor, ready to support the project for its ten-month duration.

CPCS A61 Appointed Person competence covers responsibilities associated with planning lifting operations, so having this expertise alongside wider site-management experience can make a Site Manager particularly useful to a structural steel fabricator and help differentiate them in the market.
