As the Software Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.

You will be involved in:

• Investigate issues arising in the field or during testing and provide solutions.
• Design, contribute to architecture and develop software to support ground-based training systems.
• Take requirements and transform them into appropriate software design and code.
• Identify and employ suitable software modelling and development tools and techniques.
• Write documentation for software such as User Guides, Design Documents, Configuration Management plans and Coding Standards.

Your skillset may include:

• Proven skills in software design and development using Java (J2EE), C/C++, or C#.
• Some experience in developing ground-based vehicle simulated training using simulation engines e.g. Unity, Unreal, BST (WARSIM).
• Knowledge and experience in Machine Learning, especially object detection/recognition, as well as the use of VR/AR.
• Experience in working using Agile development principles and methods.
• Experience of Synthetic Training Systems
• Experience using DevOps Tools
• Familiarity with working to safety standards and working to secure design principles
• Ability to work accurately from detailed System Specifications and Software Requirement Specifications and to be able to trace requirements coverage
• Previous experience working with MoD IT Programmes
