Senior Transport Development Planner in Ipswich, Suffolk

SENIOR TRANSPORT DEVELOPMENT PLANNER - SUFFOLK - 12 MONTH CONTRACT - £27.30/HR (INSIDE IR35)

ARM are working with a public sector organisation that are looking for a Senior Transport Development Planner to join them, based from the office in Ipswich.

About You:
You will be a knowledgeable Transport Planner, with experience working in the public sector. This will include experience in:

• Dealing with the planning process including pre-application enquiries, advising on proposals, and negotiating solutions where required.
• A variety of projects including medium/large scale housing and industrial/commercial developments.
• Proposals that fall under Section 38, 116 or 278 of the Highways Act, as well as section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act.
• Developing town-wide plans, liaising with the Transport Strategy Team and utilising knowledge of the organisation's priorities and objectives.
• Representing a public sector organisation at Public Inquiries, public meetings, Planning Committee meetings and masterplan/vision groups
• Managing a small team of technicians/engineers.

What you will be doing:

• Formulating the Highway Authority's response to consultations on planning applications for medium and large development proposals
• Agreeing design principles for new developments
• Managing the work of the Transport Planning Engineers and Technicians
• Formulating the Highway Authority's response on Local Plans
• Work with colleagues to develop town-wide transport plans including proposals for suitable schemes in those locations.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours a week on an initial 12-month contract, based from Ipswich on a hybrid basis with occasional travel required.

What you can expect in return:

• A rate of up to £27.30/hr Umbrella (Inside IR35)
• Minimum 12 month duration, with potential for extension.
