Advanced Resource Managers are pleased to be supporting a global and award winning design engineering consultancy, to hire a contract Senior or Principal level Structural Engineer, to join their South West UK Design Office for an initial period of 6 months.

If you are a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer and you would like to be considered for this post, you will hold some or most of the following qualifications, background and experience :

- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- MIStructE or MICE Full Chartership
- Developing projects from concept to construction stage.
- Managing and working to budget and program, to control costs and manage change control processes.
- Develop scopes of work and delivery programmes.
- Technically excellent engineer, with established skills and delivery capability.
- Current design standards and working practices.
- Translate technical skills into imaginative ideas which enhance the quality of designs.
- Project background in UK Defence Projects, Submarine Facilities Design or Nuclear Projects (Satisfying Safety Cases)
- Seismic Design and Detailing (Steel and Concrete to US Codes)
- Maritime Design (BS 6349)
- Heavy Civils Design
- Building Design
- Acting as a Discipline Lead

The role will allow you to :

- Be a technical champion within the team
- Provide efficient high quality structural engineering design
- Work with, and manage, small focused project teams.
- Deliver and lead multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to programme.
- Be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties.
- Manage your own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project.
- Assist/mentor the development of apprentice and less experienced staff.
- Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training.
