Senior Management Accountant - Redditch - Initial 3 Month Contract - £27 p/h (PAYE)

ARM is delighted to be recruiting for a local authority who are actively seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join them on a contract basis.

The role requires someone able to motivate other members and support the Financial Services Manager and Head of Finance.

Responsibilities:

* Provide strategic financial advice to enable the maximisation of resources and the successful delivery of value for money services.
* To promote financial standards and practices across the business to ensure a financially compliant and well-run organisation
* To undertake developmental work in support of the corporate financial policies and strategies of the business
* Knowledge of local authority VAT will also be beneficial.
* To manage the day to day treasury and insurance activities of the council, as well as support the development of the council treasury strategy.

Requirements:

* Working towards an intermediate or professional accounting qualification
* Experience within local authority accounting is a must
* Experience of working with competing demands and to tight timescales
* Ability to communicate financial issues effectively
* Good verbal and written communication skills to deal with staff at all levels
