I am recruiting for a leading defence company with sites across the UK. The Project Security Engineer is a vital role, which will provide specialist security engineering support across programmes and pursuits within the business, delivering effective security solutions for complex systems and their associated sub-systems in Special Projects, Vehicles and Air Defence domains.
The candidate will be required to:
Identify security risks within complex systems, products and solutions and ensuring that those risks are addressed by the implementation and delivery of effective and balanced security controls and mitigation's to address the risks; Contribution to and conduct trade studies related to system physical and information security.
Ensure that the security requirements are incorporated into the systems as part of an overall systems engineering approach, including:
* Specification of security requirements;
* Development of security architectures;
* Review of design & implementation;
* Specification of verification requirements;
* Acceptance of verification evidence;
* Provision of evidence for system level requirements.
Engaging with stakeholders, engineering teams and sub-contractors to provide direction, guidance and support on acceptable and balanced security solutions.
They will need to have knowledge of some or all of the following standards so that they can act as a credible liaison with the MOD accreditor: JSP440, JSP604, NCSC Good practice guide, Def-stan 5138
Knowledge and understanding of MoD, UK Government and international security standards, policies, guidance and legislation;
* Experience of security risk assessments, risk treatment plans, and accreditation document sets (SRA/SRS/SAD and/or RMADS);
* Demonstrable knowledge of systems engineering and development practices;
* Defence background;
* Strong Physical security knowledge;
* Data Networking / Cyber Security experience ;
* (ISC)2 membership with CISSP, SCCP, or CAP (Senior SIRA or Senior Architect) preferred or equivalent.
Desired skills, qualifications and experience [JP]
Experience of product / systems development environment. In particular military vehicle/Land domain or Air Defence/Weapons domains.
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to work with limited day-to-day supervision, but must know when to seek assistance.
Due to the nature of this role you will need to be a British passport holder and hold or be eligible to pass UK Security Clearance.
