You will work with a cutting-edge tech stack built on Google cloud, working on an event-driven architecture with the help of serverless technologies and best-in-breed supporting services, using solid best practices to drive innovation for the future. Our tech includes C#, React Native, Typescript, Cloud Run, Cloud functions, Terraform and Firestore. We practice a shift-left methodology, TDD and BDD, automated CI/CD and fix forward.
Key responsibilities and main duties
Serve as Principal Engineer within a functional business area or domain supporting between 3-6 Product engineering teams
Support and mentor individual contributor engineers within the domain teams.
Build a culture that embraces top tier engineering practices and performance
Actively participate in the Engineering Leadership Team, by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation that values learning and a commitment to our product development

Actively intervene where needed to improve the health of your teams, ensure inclusion, and drive positive change.
Align cross-functionally and be accountable for representing the tech pillar and for all technologies delivered within your domain
Engage in supporting hiring, retention, development, and people engagement events
Partner with the senior stakeholders to influence decision-making and drive operational performance across the functions
Extensive hands-on experience of software system design, architecture, development, testing and monitoring covering both backend and frontend.
Expert level of development in at least one of the following programming languages: C#, TypeScript.
Extensive experience of working with agile methodologies and practices
An accomplished technical leader who has worked closely with Product Managers to deliver high quality products to customers.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Business-minded and accountable to customer outcomes.
Able to translate business objectives into work streams for engineers in close collaboration working in close collaboration with a Product Manager.
A highly engaged technical leader who is curious and detail-interested while seeking to empower your teams rather than tell them what to do.
Able to guide technical decision-making with an eye towards simplicity, high standards and a strong bias towards delivery.
Able to balance product and business delivery with technical investment, being a decision maker on behalf of the business where there are trade-offs to consider.
Aware of modern software engineering practices relating to design, development, testing and maintenance.
Desired skills and experience
Prior experience of working with Engineering intelligence tools such as Code Climate Velocity.
Technical Project management and planning experience
Google Cloud professional certification or equivalent
Data driven performance monitoring and coaching
