Minor Works Project Manager

Location: Filton - Hybrid, 80% onsite
Contract: Until 12 April 2027
Hours: 35 hours per week, 4.5 days between 7am-7pm
Travel: Regular travel to Newport, South Wales

Pay: £45.05 per hour (Inside IR35)
Clearance: BPSS+ required; must be SC clearable - UK National

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Minor Works Project Manager to manage a portfolio of small-to-medium construction and facilities projects across Filton, Bristol and Newport.

This is a hands-on project management role, responsible for taking projects from initial planning and design through procurement, construction and completion. Individual projects will typically be valued up to £100,000, with the successful candidate managing multiple projects concurrently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple minor works and construction projects from start to completion.
• Coordinate project planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Manage project budgets, costs, tendering, change control and final accounts.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, health & safety and building regulations.
• Review RAMS, permits to work, site inductions and safety documentation.
• Work closely with facilities teams, operational stakeholders and contractors to minimise disruption to live sites.
• Provide regular project updates, reporting on progress, risks, costs and programme.
• Travel between Filton and Newport as required.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven experience in construction and project management, ideally within a commercial, industrial, aerospace, defence or highly regulated environment.

You will need:

• Experience managing multiple projects at the same time.
• Strong construction/project management experience.
• Experience delivering minor works or building/facilities projects.
• Good understanding of health & safety and CDM.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• Experience managing contractors and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage projects in live operational environments.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to Newport.
• UK nationality and the ability to obtain and maintain SC clearance.

Desirable

• NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or Degree in Construction, Building Services, Civil Engineering or Facilities Management.
• PRINCE2, APM, PMI or similar project management qualification.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or formal CDM training.
• Experience working within aerospace, defence or secure manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of building services, including HVAC, electrical systems and public health.
