ARM's Energy Division is seeking Multiple skilled Commissioning Engineers Working for our Nuclear Civil client located in the Devonport Dockyard/Plymouth area.
Some of your duties will include:
- Collaborate with site team members and customer organisation to ensure the safe delivery of assigned commissioning work packages.
- Assess the technical and engineering needs of work packages, identifying and managing any hazards to ensure adequate control and management.
- Oversee the implementation of work packages, ensuring it adheres to the required technical and quality standards for first-time delivery.
- Produce Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Methods Statements, etc.) to enable the effective supervision and safe performance of work tasks by the team.
- Manage sub-contractors (when applicable), including reviewing and approving their Safe Systems of Work and ensuring their teams receive the necessary tools and training.
- Provide regular progress reports and information against agreed schedules and key performance indicators.
- Monitor the work phases to identify risks and implement agreed improvements to mitigate Against those risks.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with relevant company and customer standards, expectations, rules, and procedures.
- Promptly report any unplanned events or incidents to the Commissioning Manager.
- Comply with all necessary Company, customer procedures, site rules, and instructions.
- Supervise, oversee, and mentor Commissioning Engineers (Senior Commissioning Engineer only).
- Assist Commissioning Manager in fulfilling duties, including deputising, if necessary.
Do you need to succeed?
- Vocational Qualification Level 6 / bachelor's degree / SVQ Level 4
- Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution.
- Demonstrable experience in undertaking a similar role in a complex, multi-discipline and highly regulated environment (preferably Nuclear)
- Current BPSS Clearance Mandatory
