Are you an experienced Battery Technical Specialist seeking a new permanent role? We are supporting a permanent position that can is based in Northampton. An opportunity of working with a company who is a pioneer and technology driver for the mobility of the future.

Responsibilities
* You will be providing technical leadership and specialist support towards the delivery of electrification projects led by others:
o on other battery projects
o to electrified vehicle, build and test programmes
o mentoring of engineers and section leaders
o technical support for project meetings
o to design reviews
o to business development
* Generating, evaluating, and selecting solutions for developing Energy Storage Solutions (ESS)
* Guiding further development of MPT's battery build and test facilities:
o Identify short-term optimisation and improvement opportunities
o Support the development of the long-term facility investment roadmap
* Supporting the quotation and business development activities for future electrification projects
* Prepare and supervise battery build, vehicle build and test programmes
* Across the business you will provide technical input into training needs
* Prepare and deliver technical papers and presentations
* Technical point of contact and company representative for ESS and technologies
* Define, modify, implement, and authorise department processes
* Technical point of contact for current and future Battery certification and sign off procedures
* Support generation of foundation documentation (e.g. DFMEA and DVP)

Requirements
* Degree in Engineering in a relevant subject ; electrical /electronic , mechatronic, mechanical
* Postgraduate qualification in a related topic would be advantageous
* Understanding of cell form factor, chemistry and their impact on attribute trade-off
* Experience of applying cell and battery modelling in the battery pack development process
* Experienced within applying quality and reliability tools in the context of battery pack productionisation
* Familiar with the technical standards associated with high-voltage battery packs (UN38.3, ECE R100, etc.)
* Experience in the Automotive industry and an understanding of the associated methodologies and standards (APQP, Product Specification, System Specification, FMEA, Design Verification Planning, Concerns System, V-model, ISO26262, etc.) is desirable
* Ability to supervise and motivate others, lead and work as part of a team
* IT literacy in MS Office applications is essential
* You will be able to influence the customer, senior management, and team members
* Relevant experience in the field of powertrain engineering gained within an OEM or academic or consultancy environment
