Human Factors Specialist in Derby, Derbyshire

ARM are working with a Global Rail Engineering firm that are looking for a Human Factors Specialist to join the experienced Engineering team in the Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career in a reputable business while working on the biggest rail infrastructure projects in the UK.
About You:
- Experience in Human Factors, either in a full time capacity or as part of a more specialist engineering role.
- HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent in Psychology, Ergonomics, Human Factors or a related discipline.
- Experience of working in large, multi-discipline teams, including some line management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to produce high quality documentation to tight timescales.
- Existing, or willingness to work towards Registered Membership of the CIEHF status
- Experience of the application of anthropometric data with SammieCAD or equivalent Ergonomic assessment tool.
- Any industry experience is considered, but a safety critical industry (preferably Rail) would be highly beneficial.
What you will be doing:
This is a great opportunity for a user focussed engineer y to lead the Human Factors / Ergonomics team on world class technical engineering projects.
You will work with the experienced team to provide effective, technically advanced, and user focussed products.
This is typically separated into:
- Tenders: Identifying innovative solutions for demanding clients.
- R&D / Design: Developing a multidisciplinary solution that could include signalling, train control and protection systems etc.
- Projects: Delivering complex railway solutions.
This is a full-time permanent role based in the midlands office, on a hybrid basis with an average of 3 days in the office per week dependent on project requirements.
What you can expect in return:
You can expect a salary of circa £60,000 DoE plus benefits package that includes generous bonus, 26 day's holiday increasing with length of service, matched pension scheme up to 10%, flexible benefits scheme and investment in personal development and support of professional institution memberships.
You will need to be eligible to work in the UK without restriction.
