Business Development Manager in Hampshire

PermanentOur client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their expanding team based in the south coast. The purpose of this position is to add value to our client by identifying and and working with new customers to identify and support their business needs.
In this position you will be responsible to drive business growth by establishing contacts to attract new customers requiring freight forwarding services, researching market opportunities, making sales projections, and forecasting revenue.
Responsibilities:
* Setting goals and developing plans for business revenue growth.
* Researching, planning and implementing new target market initiatives.
* Researching prospective customers for freight forwarding.
* Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle.
* Developing quotes and proposals for prospective customers.
* Setting goals and developing strategies to meet those goals.
* Attending conferences and industry events.
* Arranging business meetings with customers.
* Collaborating closely with members of the our clients team.
* Providing feedback and reports to the senior management team.
* Initiate ways of improving team performance.
* Building long term relationship with new and existing customers.
Qualifications:
* Degree level qualification in business development, business management or economics (preferable).
* Drivers Licence (essential).
Experience, Knowledge and Skill:
* Field sales experience within the Logistics / Freight Forwarding sector.
* Experience in road, sea and air freight operations.
* An established customer portfolio.
