ARM are actively recruiting for an Head of Category (Procurement) to work on a contract basis in Southwark, London. This position offers hybrid working with 2 days in the office maximum.
The Head of Category will be a leading member of the Procurement department and will be responsible for managing procurement activity and providing procurement advice to client departments.
Responsibilities
* To proactively manage multiple stakeholders to encourage early engagement through procurement pipeline planning against budgets and effective participation in procurement processes whilst also managing stakeholder expectations.
* To ensure that agreed procurement timescales are achieved or rescheduled by mutual agreement with relevant stakeholders, and to escalate team resource capacity issues when appropriate.
* To lead and manage multiple high risk and complex procurement activities consecutively from identification of need to contract signature. To achieve value for money contracts in collaboration with key commercial partners where beneficial.
* To manage the departmental and category working practices to ensure that sufficient information is provided to stakeholders responsible for implementation and management of any resulting contract.
* To facilitate team cohesion in conjunction with other Heads of Category (Procurement) by reinforcing a team direction and cascading management updates whilst encouraging feedback and contribution from the team.
Requirements
* Experience of working at a senior level in procurement or similar environment, managing a range of complex multi-disciplinary projects concurrently and providing support to the senior management team.
* Experience of providing high quality written work within a procurement context in order to prepare complex and sensitive contractual and management documentation, such as procurement guidance and corporate reports.
* Experience of staff management, motivation and development, to ensure effective capacity and capability whilst managing weaknesses and harnessing strengths.
* Experience of acting on own initiative in a range of situations but maintaining awareness as a team member to ensure continuous alignment with co-workers to offer service consistency.
