Software Testing Engineer

12 month contract

Based in Stevenage

Offering up to £65ph Inside IR35

As the Software Testing Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.

Due to the nature of the work you will be involved in, SC clearance is required.

You will be involved in:

• Test/Proving Planning:
• Understanding Customer needs and requirements from a proving perspective
• Understanding design and architecture including defining software test bed requirements
• Developing comprehensive software test plans, writing, and running test sets, designs, and specifications

• Test/Proving Conduct:
• Regular progressive software testing assurance during software development cycles
• Leading testing of software defects
• Liaising with our Support team in order to provide logs/data analysis when issues are identified
• Demonstrate compliance to requirements
• Executing formal software qualification testing

• Test/Proving Reporting:
• Providing regular updates to project leads and stakeholders on software functionality
• Writing detailed software test and analysis reports for certification purposes
• Supporting the software delivery and release process, including final certification activities

Your skillset and experience:

• Software Test automation
• Understanding software Logs/Data analysis
• CI/CD software pipelines
• GitLab, JIRA, scripting, IBM PLM/ ALM/ EWM /Doors
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum
• Ability to understand compliance and regulatory requirements
• AI test automation tooling
• Software Simulation/Emulator knowledge
• Linux Network Configuration and analysis tools
