We have an opportunity within a leading automotive client, based out of their Warwickshire head office. Position Description:
A Subject Matter Expert in Diesel and Gasoline Engine Vibration to generate a strategy for the implementation of a vibration methodology to engine development, working as part of the validation group and using vibration techniques, LMS & Reilhoffer condition monitoring units to help identify methodology improvements to drive an increase in effectiveness and efficiency in the approach to engine validation. Establish bench-marking strategy for automotive and other industries to ensure best practice is understood thus supporting design and DV teams in establishing appropriate plans to deliver the required level of vibration durability at the required confidence level.

Skills Required:
1. Understanding of engine vibration, modal analysis, durability and NVH.
2. Understanding of advanced engine technology and engine validation.
3. Experience in the use of vibration condition monitoring for engine protection.

Experience Required:
1.Confident technical leadership with an understanding of vibration, modal analysis, frequency response in engine validation, including component and sub system durability impact.
2.Confident technical leadership with an understanding of advanced engine technology and experience of engine validation plans, including component and sub system analysis and testing.
3.Experience in root cause analysis methodology and proficient use of problem solving and quality tools is essential with a demonstrable capability of complex, cross functional problem resolution and engineering support for component community.
4.Experience of warranty data analysis and its application to vibration fatigue related warranty.
5.Responsible for Engineering Specification & Statement of Requirements supporting assessment of technical competency of supplier - with respect to part reliability under vibration and frequency targets- in order to ensure correct sourcing process and on-going delivery.
6.Experienced in the use of vibration monitoring and use of kits such as LMS & Reilhoffer to continuously monitor engine health and degradation towards failure."

Education Required:
Highly self-motivated and able to act on initiative with excellent communication and presentation skills, and a self-confident CAN DO attitude. Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project) preferred. Preferably qualified to degree level. A highly driven individual capable of making effective decisions in the best interests of the business and customer with an ability and confidence to provide clear and concise direction to others. Ability to report and communicate plans and status to a senior audience. Ability to prioritise workload and lead issue resolution either individually or as part of a cross-functional team.
