Vehicle Facilities Technician
Location; Bedford

The market for vehicle testing has really taken off in recent years and is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. As a result of continued business wins as well as massive company growth plans, an automotive consultancy is looking for a number of people to join their busy vehicle engineering teams.

As a vehicle technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks ensuring vehicles are fully prepared for tests on rototest, hub dynamometers. This will include vehicle preparation and equipment installation, through to testing, formulating and validating test results. Hub dyno Technicians are also responsible for maintaining and calibrating all test equipment and working to high standard to produce consistent results.

You will ideally be working within an automotive workshop or lab-based setting performing hands-on mechanical fitting activities on whole vehicle systems. You will be working with a variety of diagnostic tools, instrumentation and sensors as well as maybe working with rolling roads/chassis dynamometers for performance based tasks.

About you;

+ Ideally qualified to apprenticeship level in a motor vehicle field.
+ Solid understanding of motor vehicle fundamentals and how various vehicle systems work together.


+ A solid background working with automotive diagnostic tools, sensors and instrumentation for performance, emission or functionality testing.
+ A solid knowledge of electrical/electronic fault finding on vehicles.
+ A keen interest in motor vehicle technology and trends.
+ Full UK driving license.
