Job Description


An innovative and award winning consultancy is seeking Associate Transport Planner to help build a new dynamic office in London. As the Associate Transport Planner you will lead their southern transportation planning team and develop the workload in the London office. You will join a the new office in London and have a real impact on the direction and development of the planning office - a real opportunity for you to develop you career!

As the Associate Transport Planner your responsibilities will include:

. You will be involved with the assessment of the transportation needs relating to clients' development proposals
. You will work towards solutions which are acceptable to all stakeholders
. You will be working with a strong, growing and varied portfolio of clients and the ability to articulate and communicate planning ideas, concepts and proposals is essential
. Providing planning-stage support for a variety of development schemes
. Preparation of technical assessment documents and reports for planning submissions
. Technical assessments of junction performance using a range of industry-standard traffic modelling software
. The drafting of travel plans and sustainability assessments
. General arrangement design work for new junctions and accesses onto the road network
. Attending project meetings and conducting on-site visits
. Attending planning appeals/public inquiries etc.
Client liaison/business development
. Mentoring of junior staff
. Attending public consultation events

The successful Associate Transport Planner will have the following skills and experience:

. You will have a client-focussed approach to your work
. You will be enthusiastic and industrious with a willingness to learn new skills
. You are expected to have good skills with the use of TRICS, TEMPRO, Junctions 8/9 (ARCADY/PICADY) and preferably LinSig3
. Significant experience of writing transport assessments/statements and travel plans is essential with knowledge of both local authority and highway authority processes and procedures
. Have experience in the private sector with commercial / housing development (essential) in the London / South East region
