Engine Test Technician x 4 - Emissions / Durability / Component
Commutable from; Bedford, Milton Keynes, Banbury, Royal Leamington Spa, Daventry, Northampton, Oxford, London.
Salary; £30,000 - £33,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) + Pension + Life Assurance

A globally known FTSE100 company are looking for a number of proven engine test technicians to be based onsite at their engine test facility in Bedfordshire as a result of continued growth and winning large programmes with key automotive OEM customers.As a Test Technician there won't be two days the same. Within their engines facility you will be responsible for maintaining multiple engine test beds simultaneously in regards to validation, durability, calibration and development of customer engine programmes.

This will include installing the engine within the test cell, fabricating brackets, rigging the engine in to the cell, performing pre-test checks, running the test, collating test data, liaising with other technicians and test engineers, performing any engine service tasks and potentially carry out further tests on inconclusive results with the aim of achieving the customers' targets.

Ideally, you will be currently working as an engine or component test technician within an engines environment within either an automotive, power generation, off-highway, marine or industrial environment. 'The ideal candidate';

- Minimum City & Guilds in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering or time served as an apprentice.
- Full understanding of Gasoline/Diesel engines.
- Knowledge and usage of testbed hardware/software.
- Knowledge and usage of test instruments such as thermocouples and pressure transducers.
- Knowledge and usage of engine calibration tools such as Cameo or Inca.
- Experience of prototype building and engine stripping.

The best candidate will be a team player who is looking to build upon their existing knowledge and someone with a true interest in engines/mechanical engineering. The team never leave anyone behind and ensure jobs are always performed to the best of their ability. The shift pattern is 1 week of 6am-2pm and 1 week of 2pm-10pm.
