Our client is a rapidly changing, dynamic, with both domestic and international customers. It consists of three business areas focussing on Vehicles, Special Projects and Mission Support, which provide a variety of products and services to the MoD and other customers including the Warrior CSP, Scout and support to the Land Environment Air Picture Provision capability. With a significant percentage of the revenue being subcontracted to key partners and suppliers, the Sub-contracts function is fundamental to business success. The successful candidate will work as part of a growing team and be responsible for the design and implementation of a range of test equipment to support the production of AFV turrets and associated sub-systems. Reporting to the test equipment development lead you will be required to:
Understand the needs of users of the test equipment in order to develop the system architecture/design to meet those needs.
Create specifications for in-sourcing or out-sourcing of needed system components,
Integrating the components into a working system,
Verification, analysing and testing the equipment against the specifications,
Troubleshoot any test equipment issues to ensure a smooth transition to the end user.

Experience of factory/end of line testing of complex military, aerospace or automotive systems.
Proven experience in the design and development of test equipment and test solutions with hardware and software.

Experience of any of the following:

- Generating test equipment specifications
- Wiring and cable design
- Overseeing the procurement of test equipment from third party supplier
- Design of electrical and electronic products
- Design and coding of test software including interface emulators and test operator interfaces
- Integration, verification and commissioning of test equipment into a factory environment
- Certification and CE marking of test equipment

Experience of working with any of the following:

- CANbus and its derivatives
- IP/Ethernet based test solutions
- Electro-mechanical systems
- Use of Vector CANoe equipment
- Experience of developing test equipment using National Instruments LabView or associated products
