Programme Ampthill - Warrior

Specific Job Description As part of the continued success of the Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP), our client requires an experienced Systems Engineer to join the Electronic Architecture team. The role will encompass all aspects of a systems engineering lifecycle and will primarily be responsible for providing technical input into the team on the systems design and delivery of the WCSP platform Built-In-Test (BIT) and Health and Usage Monitoring System(HUMS).
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in the systems engineering tasks to develop and document BIT and HUMS system functionality, at the system and sub-system level.

Reporting to the Electronic Architecture Design Authority the successful candidate will be responsible for:
" Development and definition of the Warning, Cautions and alerts derived form the system failure modes
" Translation of the BIT and HUMS functionality to the software team and sub-system suppliers
" Verification and acceptance of the system and sub-system level BIT and HUMS requirements, using supplier evidence and artefacts where necessary
" Production of system engineering artefacts to support the BIT and HUMS development and verification

Required skills, qualifications and experience

The successful candidate must have experience of the following:

" Development and delivery of BIT and HUMS functionality
" Using DOORS to manage functional requirements and associated verification evidence
" Understanding of software development on large, complex systems and working with software engineering teams to deliver system functionality
" Understanding of relational database theory and practice
" Experience of working with ILS specialists and domain leads to understand system failure cause and symptoms
" Understanding of Failure Modes Effects Analyses and derivation to system Warnings, Cautions and Alerts
The successful candidate must also have:

" Excellent communication skills.
" Excellent interpersonal behaviour, able to forge working relations internally and with external suppliers and customers.
" Understanding of the project lifecycle
" Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
" Excellent verbal and written communication skills
" The ability to work to tight deadlines
