Our client is a leading prime contractor and systems integrator responsible for a wide portfolio of high technology programmes, complex integration, training and through-life support, spanning the defence and civil sectors. The client is a leading provider of systems engineering, software development and complex programme management for global security, cyber, civil and commercial markets.
Specific Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer will report to the Systems Engineering Manager functionally and will be tasked by Military Solutions Programme Management for all activities, including the management and liaison of the installation sub-contractors and all integration, test and acceptance activities.
Liaise with MoD stakeholders
Requirements management including decomposition of customer requirements to derive lower level system requirements
Attend various working groups
Review and approve engineering technical deliverables
Manage and co-ordinate the Design, Development and Integration & Test activities
Review and approve the trials documentation
Additional/Occasional Duties and Tasks
The Systems Engineer may be required to support new business opportunities providing input into the production of engineering estimates.
Experience in capture and delivery of complex defence Programmes, knowledge of Military technology and currently fielded systems.
Have proven experience with the successful design, implementation, integration, and test of Naval (maritime) and Airborne Systems
Required skills, qualifications and experience
" Proficient with DOORS requirements management
" Ideally require a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
" Will also consider individuals with equivalent experience / combined education.
" Considered an emerging authority.
Good time management skills and ability to prioritise resources to react to operational requirements.
Proven inter-personal and technical skills and must be able to work within a small technical team and provide technical expertise and leadership when required.
Self-starting and capable of working effectively without day to day supervision under only general direction. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Strong customer and end user focus and capable of readily interpreting and influencing Customer thinking.
Capable of formulating of proposal plans / schedules, development effort and cost estimates.
