Structural Engineer

Are you a highly skilled Structural Engineer with a background in Aerospace? Fancy working for a company with fantastic benefits that looks after its staff?

It is expected that the position will require the following duties and responsibilities:
" Preparation of product engineering analyses including structural and pneumatic systems
" Preparation of airworthiness and safety management certification
" Ensure Product/Safety system is managed and maintained
" Assist in the definition and development of engineering materials and processes selection best practice
" Develop predictive engineering models in support of new product development
" Develop structural engineering specifications involving metals and non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design.
" Develops specifications for operation of product to include structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating equipment and maintenance designs.
" Damage tolerance, durability, design allowable and structural modelling.
" Specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, thermal analysis and gas system dynamics.
" Tools utilised will include Microsoft Excel, Solidworks, ANSYS, Matlab/Python.

Qualifications and Experience:
" Minimum of a 2:2 in an engineering degree (eg. Mechanical / Aerospace / Aeronautical / Automotive) or equivalent industry experience
" Candidate will ideally hold professional membership with an engineering institution and will be working towards chartered status.
" Demonstrable experience and knowledge in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
" Experience with 3D CAD modelling with software such as SolidWorks / SolidEdge
" Performing engineering hand calculations
" 3D Finite Element Modelling using tools such as ANSYS / NASTRAN / ABAQUS
" Linear and Non-linear Analysis of Metallic and Non-Metallic Structures
" Fatigue Life Prediction of Structures
" Vibration Analysis - Harmonic and Random Vibration
" Knowledge of programming language such as Matlab or Python
" Knowledge of thermodynamics/fluid dynamics principles and simulations using CFD tools such as ANSYS FLUENT/CFX
