My client are the leading brand in Railway signalling and systems and are currently looking for a signalling biased Engineering Manager.
What are we looking for?
-Risk assessment, Organisational, Customer liaison, Business management Delivery management and control skills
-A1 & V1 audit skills
-MSc or BSc degree level education in an engineering discipline
-Corporate Member of IRSE with CEng
-Experience of working in signalling design, testing or installation with an in depth knowledge of railway construction methods and materials used.
Main responsibilities will include:
-Act as Professional Head in relation to Signalling.
-Ensure bids and contracts are technically compliant with relevant Group standards, client standards and internal processes and procedures.
-Produce regular reports on the business engineering performance.
-Attend networking meetings and build relationships with the organisation and other external companies.
-Carry out quarterly technical briefings and provide feedback to senior managers.
-Carry out risk assessments.
-Assist the senior management team in making strategic decisions for the signalling business.
-Maintain a competency management framework within which the company will operate.
-Carry out briefings and provide feedback to senior managers.
-Motivate, coach and develop engineering staff.
-Provide an IRSE licensing framework within which the company will work.
-Define and deliver relevant processes, procedures & process improvements for engineering
-Highlight R&D needs and undertake R&D projects as required.
-Produce and manage financial budgets and forecasts.
-Approve project CRE and CEM positions on contracts.
-Create enthusiasm within the engineering team. Ensure effective communication to all staff, promoting teamwork and fostering open dialogue. Act as a team player, leading by example.
-In conjunction with the engineering management team, provide development opportunities for engineering directorate staff.
-Monitor hours worked, sickness, attendance and punctuality of staff within the group.
-Line management responsibility for teams on engineering compliance, Technical Competency Management (inc IRSE licensing) and document control.
