SHEQ Advisor
Fixed Term Contract - 6-9months

My client are currently looking for a SHEQ Advisor to cover maternity leave.

Main Duties
-To act as the EHS advisor for numerous fixed (non-project) locations and to offer advice on all EHS (Environmental, Safety and Health) Issues;
-To ensure maintenance of EHS arrangements and compliance to company standards and procedures;
-To assist with the development of the IMS and RISQS Audit preparation;
-To liaise with varied groups of individuals (Fire Wardens, First Aiders, Safety Committee Representatives, Managers and Directors) in order to maintain existing standards, further promote Health and Safety and to assist with building a positive culture.
-To assist with the monitoring of EHS objectives via KPI`s and other indicators.
-To assist with the investigation of accidents/ incidents and to track corrective action.
-It is essential for a successful candidate to have NEBOSH Certificate and a working knowledge of legislation such as CDM and Fire Safety, Network Rail standards and PCL requirements. A valid PTS certificate is advantageous.

Skills and experience
-Good organisational & communication skills with good level of influencing and inter-personal skills.
-Proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint
-A results focus with a `sense of urgency` to achieve the results in the required timescale.
-The ability to plan and organise work
-The ability to solve problems and make decisions
-Current Driving License
-Accepting responsibility for action/lack of action - as appropriate & being accountable for them
-The ability to work independently and yet successfully as part of a team and network within the company & industry

-Good knowledge of CDM Regulations
-Experience of Quality Management
-Experience of working with ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 / HSG 65 standards.
-Knowledge and experience of working on operational railway infrastructure (Network Rail)
-Knowledge of Environmental legislation
-Working knowledge of Safety legislation
-An understanding of the customer requirements for safe working
