How would you like to work for the best kept secret in automotive engineering?

Our incredible client is a leader in the industry, producing parts which, statistically, feature in every other car. Not only is this brand extremely well-respected around the world, but it's also a great employer, allowing staff the freedom to realise their goals and see their ideas come into fruition. You'll be nurtured, developed, rewarded and feel part of something important. If you're looking for an employer with a conscience, one which values its staff and enables them to reach their goals, then this could be the job for you.

Within the Test & Verification team, you will be responsible for the testing and analysis of engine/vehicle engineering programmes for a variety of OEM customers. You will need to liaise with customers/suppliers, oversee engine/vehicle build and test programmes, ensuring all work is carried out to set procedures/requirements. You will create test requests, fabricate test parts, analyse results and generate reports. Aside from that, you will need to liaise with designers and development engineers internally to help specify tests and provide test expertise on engine programmes to support product development. You will also have technical responsibility for 2-3 technicians working on your specific engine verification programmes.

About you:

+ Ideally a degree in an engineering discipline; either mechanical, automotive or similar.
+ Ideally a member of the IMechE, Chartered status (CEng) or MIET would be beneficial.
+ A confident character who can communicate with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally.

+ Preferably a proven background within the automotive gasoline/diesel engines sector.
+ Strong and proven engine test background, having taken the lead on test programmes.
+ A good knowledge of emissions, durability, engine management systems (EMS) or component performance.
+ A strong customer-facing background delivering projects to high quality, within budget and within time constraints (for senior levels).
+ A good background in testbed hardware/software.
+ A demonstrable knowledge of engineering fundamentals, combustion cycles, thermodynamic analysis and emission standards.
