Salary: 50000-55000 GBP per Year
As a key member of the purchasing management team you will provide leadership and management to our team of Programme buyer's /coordinators, with responsibility for developing the sourcing and supply base strategy on special vehicles, to ensure the delivery of the programmes that meet all specified targets. This is a key role within an expanding area within Aston Martin and has a high profile within the organisation. You will therefore need to develop close working relationships with internal and external strategic alignment on our sourcing strategy to ensure optimisation and contribution to our cross car line targets. Commercial, contract and project management experience is desirable and the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally is essential.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
o Develop and initiate purchasing strategy for Special Vehicle Programmes
o Align Programmes team capabilities to deliver strategy plan
o Ensure cross functional alignment on sourcing strategies to ensure maximum optimisation of supplier base for QCD deliverables across all vehicle lines
o Lead and support key commercial, contract and project management activities
o Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships both internally and externally ensuring team work and cooperation at all levels
o Manage Purchasing team in delivery of adherence to vehicle programme targets in respect of cost quality and delivery
o Develop and maintain Purchasing special programme KPi's providing performance transparency and platform for identifying and planning mitigation to variance to plan
o Lead and or support Programme management meeting structure, including Gateways, Programme Steering Team, Design Reviews and Launch Control Meetings related to Special Vehicle Programmes
o Develop , implement and manage supply chain risk process for Special Edition Vehicle programme
o Manage the provision, analysis and interpretation of data reports order to make commercial decisions.
o Set goals, establish priorities, manage resources and develop concepts and approaches, review projects progress and results in order to make management decisions.
o Liaise with finance to ensure Purchasing Programme's targets and results are totally aligned to those reported at a corporate level.
o Form part of the team to support the definition and roll out of Purchasing's strategy plan, specific to special Programmes and across the whole Department and other functions.
o Implement clear and transparent processes, to ensure special Programmes follow a standard approach.
o Able to translate the businesses strategic requirements into clearly defined processes, where performance can be monitored and measured against expected results.
o Define clear and specific roles and responsibilities for the Purchasing Programmes team, making the most of each individual ad balancing between current and future deliverables.
o Constantly strive for process improvement opportunities internally, as well as with the customer and the Supplier base, focussing on business 'Best Practice' initiatives.
o Lead and promote good supplier relationships, through the development of a Supplier scorecard and eventually, the development of a Supplier awards system.
o Play an instrumental role in enabling the function to achieve its business objectives, through meeting or ideally exceeding defined objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
o Educated to Degree level, preferably in line with the role requirements.
o Previous purchasing/ programmes experience is desirable.
o Experience/ ability to manage a team
o Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
o Good communication and interpersonal skills.
o Microsoft Office & specifically Excel/ PowerPoint skills would be an advantage.
o Post holder should hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel where their specific work responsibilities require.
