Senior Powertrain Facilities Engineer
Location; Bedford

A market, driven by legislation and demand has resulted in the need for a proven facilities engineer to join a medium sized team of engine test technicians and engineers working on engine and powertrain development projects for automotive OEM customers. The client are an automotive test & development consultancy who are at the forefront of the industry when it comes to creating more powerful, cleaner and economical vehicles.

The client is on a constant recruitment drive and have made allocated significant investment in to the refresh and refurbishment of their test facilities and have a further plans to invest a significant amount in installing further test cells too. The emissions stories in the news recently have created quite a bit of business and as a result require the room for additional test cells.

As a Facilities engineer you will be responsible for; providing engineering support for the powertrain equipment and test engineers who are performing development testing for customers. This will involve defining and specifying facility upgrades and equipment, procuring test equipment, project managing and contractor managing, maintenance & calibration of equipment and providing ongoing support to ensure the smooth running of powertrain testing programmes.

About you;

+ Test facility background ideally within an engine or powertrain testing capacity.
+ Good knowledge of emissions analysers, test instrumentation and auxiliary systems (fuel, oil, water, electrics).
+ Proven project management background of test facility CAPEX projects.

Qualifications;

+ Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline. HND/HNC with a demonstrable background will also be considered.
