Our client is a world-class, independent engineering consultancy, operating in multiple locations around the world, to support vehicle manufacturers and their supply chain with cutting-edge engineering and testing expertise.

Job Description

Title of Job: Senior NVH Engineer
Salary Range: £40,000 - £47,000 depending on candidate
Location: Nuneaton

They offer full-system design, test and integration expertise to automotive, defence, rail and transport industries and also specialise in developing low carbon and autonomous and co-operative driving technologies.

Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this job is to manage and deliver customer projects regarding vehicle NVH development, from full programme development activity to short and urgent problem solving tasks.
The scope of this role also includes:
To instigate and support internal research projects within the NVH team, providing expertise and knowledge. This includes research and development of new and current technology and CI of internal process and procedures.
This role will be based at the west midlands site and will involve foreign travel; approximately 2 to 3 trips per year of 10 days duration per trip and potentially, but not essential, 2 to 3 month short term secondments.
The role will include all the commercial aspects of the consultancy nature of our business, to different extents: enquiry support, project scope/approach definition, project delivery, testing, project reporting.
Also, The role will at times be highly customer focused, being the point of contact and technical expert/lead for the project.

Key Functions
To undertake project work as the technical leader, in a timely and cost effective manner, whilst ensuring that a professional interface with the customer is maintained. The scope includes:
" Instrumentation specification and preparation
" NVH test to current directives
" Technical lead of NVH vehicle development programmes
" Technical lead of NVH problem investigation and solving
" Subjective assessment of vehicle NVH performance
" Generation of proposals and reports
" Test procedure development
" Presentation and technology transfer to customers
" Support of industry forums and events

The role will include travel and activity overseas including Europe, China, Korea, Japan, India, Brazil and the Middle East.

Also required for this role:
To support the business development team with key technical support, liaising with the customers' technical teams to show evidence of our capabilities and to understand their needs.
To support the enquiry and contract process with appropriate technical input and represent with customers. This would include a level of knowledge of other key chassis attribute teams.

Essential Qualifications
" Degree qualified in automotive or mechanical engineering or equivalent. Driving license.
" Masters degree. HGV and other vehicle licenses

Essential Experience
Experience of NVH development and test, applying skills to a wide variety of vehicles. This should also include hybrid and EV.
Competent user of LMS data analysis tools and other industry standard equipment such as B&K, Prosig, etc.
Good understanding of CAE NVH tools and their application within the vehicle development cycle.
Attention to detail, customer liaison skills, ability to deliver, working with overseas customers in foreign territories.
" Foreign languages would be a positive addition.
