Job Description

Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Engines)
Location: Derbyshire

Are you a manufacturing engineer from an engines background who is interested in joining a world leader in diesel engine development at their home just outside of Derby? If so, please read on.

As a manufacturing engineer you will be responsible for optimising the process of production testing/end of line (EOL) testing for large diesel engines within a specific cycle time. You will also be responsible for specifying machines, CAPEX, procuring of equipment, liaising with OEM suppliers, tooling, creating new processes, continuous improvement and implementing preventative actions.

This role would ideally suit someone currently working as a manufacturing engineer who is looking for that step up to senior engineer and work autonomously within your area. If you have an interest in engines as a hobby, that would also be very beneficial.

About you:

+ Ideally educated to degree level in either mechanical, manufacturing or similar engineering discipline.
+ A strong communicator.

Skills Knowledge:

+ In an ideal world you will be working within an engine manufacturing plant/production testing facility (either diesel or gasoline).
+ A good background with procuring and project managing test installations, looking to optimise testing and reduce downtime.
+ Process development, continuous improvement, specification and procurement.
+ Engines knowledge.
+ A self-starter - someone who can manage their own day & workload, maybe even offer mentoring to more junior engineers.

+ Pension, health care, critical illness cover, company doctor & dentist.
+ Progression, development opportunities as well as the chance to rotate in the business.

£40,000 - 50,000
