As part of the Mechanical Systems team, you will be the Senior Validation Engineer. You will be responsible for all aspects of planning and demonstrating the reliability & durability of new engines and engine systems. you will will plan and deliver the validation of new and updated diesel engines for industrial applications, and non-road mobile machinery.

You will be joining a successful innovative engine supplier in Peterborough that is part of a larger globally recognised off-highway brand.

The Mechanical Systems team, have a vacancy for a Senior Validation Engineer who will be accountable for all aspects of planning and demonstrating the reliability & durability of new engines and engine systems. They will plan and deliver the validation of new and updated diesel engines for industrial applications, and non-road mobile machinery.

The role involves:
" Identification of risks to product reliability and durability, proactively addressing issues in through design, and working with Simulation & Test engineers to determine product capability
" Facilitation of Design FMEAs, and identification of DVP&R requirements
" Project Management of engine build and test plans, delivering product validation tests through both our onsite test facility and in-field testing
" Working with the Product Engineering Manager to ensure that project meets time, cost and quality targets

The role is within our Peterborough Engineering & Technology centre where you will work alongside a range of system and component specialists, with support and collaboration from engineers across facilities in US, China, and India.

The Senior Validation Engineer will:
" Facilitate the creation of Engine System and component FMEA's, supporting risk identification, providing technical guidance on system integration and facilitating the creation of system & component validation plans (DVP&R).
" Collate the output of system and component FMEA's into an engine validation plan and specific test requirements.
" Be responsible for ensuring adherence to proactive reliability processes, producing progress status and risk analysis reports.
" Identify and manage actions amongst component owners and development engineers to ensure program timelines are met.
" Work with component teams, test engineers, and the technical project leads, to drive decision making from engine data reviews and end of test inspections.
" Liaise with application leads & customers to negotiate in field validation opportunities
" Provide coaching and guidance to engineers within the project team

The work involves working in a fast moving development environment with the ability to analyse technical situations and make sound technical recommendations based on this analysis.

Required Skills and Experience:
" Project Management within a product development environment
" Understanding of diesel engine systems, reliability & durability demonstration, and technical issue resolution
" Experience of using Design FMEAs (facilitation and analysis) to manage product risks and manage validation requirements
" Experience of delivering DVP&R within time and cost constraints
" Good communication skills, written & verbal
" Ability to lead and deliver through others
" Engineering degree qualified with typically 5 to 10 years relevant industrial experience

Desired Skills and Experience:
" Experience of industrial diesel engine applications, construction machinery or generating sets
" Experience of Proactive Reliability methods and demonstration of Product Quality
" Proven project management experience related to product validation
" Experience of Root Cause Analysis and issue investigation techniques
