Senior Software & Controls Engineer - Chassis Controls
Frankfurt, Germany

Are you a software engineer or control systems engineer who wants to work with a global brand in order to make their cars the number one selling passenger vehicles in Europe? Are you a real specialist in your area who wants to work for a company with real ambition and work within a multicultural team with a good sense of humour!?

As a Software Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new and existing systems including stability control, traction control, power steering and electronic limited slip differential (ELSD) to improve vehicle performance and vehicle dynamics targets. You will ensure all systems are working together in harmony and are integrated in the vehicle, making any necessary algorithm changes and communicating with test engineers internally to provide them with the technical know-how in front of suppliers to improve ride & handling. This will ultimately shape the future for new models in the pipeline as well as improve current vehicle platforms.

About you:

- Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline. An MSc or PhD would be even better!
- Chartered status would give you an advantage.

Skills/Knowledge:

- A sound background within chassis control systems: Electronic Stability Control, Traction, Slip Differential or Steering.
- A background within a vehicle development team, preferably on high performance vehicles!
- A working knowledge of an industry-based CAD system, coupled with ADAMS/Simpack/CarMaker.
- A 'data-cruncher' who can look at lots of data in MatLab/Simulink
- Be able to perform competitor analysis and benchmarking on other industry control systems.
- Attend seminars and liaise with research institutes on current/future controls systems.
