A globally known FTSE100 company are looking for a number of automotive technicians and engineers to be based onsite at their engine test facility in Buckinghamshire. The client offers engineering solutions to the automotive market and are looking to increase their workforce due to a strategic growth plan. As a senior controls engineer there won't be two days the same. Within their engines facility you will be responsible for maintaining multiple engine test beds simultaneously in regards to validation, durability, calibration and development of customer engine emission programmes.
As a senior controls engineer, you will be responsible for engineering control and delivery of high quality dynamometer test programs for external and internal clients in the main business areas of controls/calibration and performance development testing. In addition to your own work, you are expected to guide the work of more junior staff. This will include; developing improved methods and tools for engine EMS mapping, data acquisition and data analysis as well as developing in-house skills for the use of CAMEO automated mapping software including its design of experiments (DoE) and data processing elements.
Ideally, you will be currently working as a controls engineer or calibration & controls engineer on a variety of engine testing projects. This might not necessarily be automotive ether! You will be familiar with ETAS Inca, AVL Concerto, AVL CAMEO and Bosch EMS tools too.
+ Ideally degree educated in an engineering based field, i.e. mechanical, automotive or similar.
+ Proven hands-on background working with engine dynamometer technology, i.e. Horiba, AVL or similar.
+ Proven background leading emissions development programmes for automotive customers. Off-highway, trucks and bus engine programmes will also be considered.
+ A good familiarity and usage of ETAS Inca, AVL Concerto and Bosch EMS application tools.
+ A confident character who can liaise with customers and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
+ An innovative thinker who can develop new ways of testing, data acquisition and data analysis.
+ EMS mapping and optimisation, Design of Experiments/DoE.
