Security Analyst - Deputy Shift Leader
Reading
£30,000 - £40,000 + £10,000 Shift Allowance
My client is one the UK's leading Security focussed Managed Services Providers & Consultancy looking for a proven Security Analyst to join their SOC team in Reading.
This role sits within a 24x7 environment and as such candidates must be comfortable working in a shift pattern.
You will have the opportunity to join as a potential Deputy Shift leader with the opportunity for growth both technically and professionally, working the latest technologies supporting large blue-chip global clients.
The key responsibilities in this role will include:
" Providing proactive support in a timely and professional manner in line with SLA
" Reviewing, updating, resolving and subsequently closing service requests/tickets and completing change requests to a high level of customer satisfaction following defined processes and procedures
" Providing accurate, succinct and sufficiently detailed documentation of any work performed
" Attending training courses covering products, technologies and personal development (completing certifications as required)
" Maintaining, improving and sharing knowledge
" Writing of Knowledgebase articles ensuring they are accurate and timely
" Involvement in Vendor meetings if required
" Deliver Technical Account Management (TAM) services and/or Secure Hands as appropriate
" Occasional travel to regional offices, primarily France and Germany
" Provide out of hours support on a rota basis as required and flexible with regards to working hours
" Close working and liaison with the shift team leader
" Providing constructive and positive input to the appraisal process
" Conducting case reviews and mentoring employees to develop greater service excellence
" Acting as a point of escalation in the absence of the shift team leader
As a proven Security Analyst/Engineer, you skills and knowledge should include:
" Experience in a similar role, ideally within the IT Security industry
" Ability to understand the customer operational requirements
" Knowledge on any of the following - Firewalls, Content Scanners, Proxies or IPS/IDS systems
" Preferable experience of products from vendors such as Checkpoint, Juniper, F5, Bluecoat, RSA, Palo Alto or Cisco
" TCP/IP networking skills
" Good knowledge of Unix (Linux, BSD) and/or Windows client and server
" Lateral thinking combined with strong troubleshooting skills
" Previous experience as a shift leader or as a deputy shift leader of a small closely knit team
" Strong commitment to personal development and a drive to develop themselves technically
