We have an opportunity within a leading automotive client, based out of their Warwickshire head office. As SCS Control Engineer you will be responsible for the design and delivery of Stability Control Systems Modulators, its mountings and software releases for a vehicle platform.

We have an opportunity within a leading automotive client, based out of their Warwickshire head office. As SCS Control Engineer you will be responsible for the design and delivery of Stability Control Systems Modulators, its mountings and software releases for a vehicle platform.

Position Description:
The Lead Engineer will be part of the Braking Systems Design group, in the Stability Control Systems delivery team. The SCS teams are responsible for delivering vehicle functions that provide safety and control for the driver under extreme vehicle driving conditions. E.G. Anti-Lock Braking Systems, Traction Control, Stability Control, Hill Descent Control etc. The Lead Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of Stability Control Systems Modulators, its mountings and software releases for a vehicle platform. In this role the candidate will lead an internal team and the suppliers, is accountable for delivering cascaded targets. I.E. To Quality, On Time, To Cost, To Weight.

Skills Required:
Strong leadership skills and experience of leading issue resolution within cross-functional teams Electro-mechanical systems engineering / requirements creations strong English language based written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to senior colleagues across the business.

Experience Required:
Strong Systems Engineering background Strong team player with a successful track record in team leadership and organisation Ability to delegate tasks to team members and maintain strong working relationships within the business Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and colleagues Enthusiasm for task, strong drive and high motivation and largely self-sufficient - able to deliver with minimum supervision Ability to work at a fast pace and deliver First time through results Ability to negotiate technical solutions within a multi-disciplinary and geographically spread team Ability to manage conflict and balance opposing programme demands Strong influencing, communication and presentation skills will be required to negotiate solutions and to report out regularly to all levels of the business and supply base Understanding of automotive Chassis, Braking systems & Stability Control Systems. Thorough knowledge of basic quality engineering tools including FMEA and robust application of Lessons Learned from previous programmes. Flexible approach and able to work away from home and beyond normal hours when required High level user of the MS Office suite of software.

Experience Preferred:
Experience in the design and delivery of electro-mechanical systems desired. I.E. Mechanical systems with functions controlled by software housed in an ECU or of a component engineering role preferably gained in an automotive environment. Driver training to Class 3 On Road and PG3 would be an advantage.
