Main Purpose of job:

The primary purpose of risk management is to safeguard the organisation, its reputation, assets and the interests of stakeholders by identifying and managing threats to the achievement of its business objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Monitor the risk management activities across the Programme (I.T and deployment); Ensure the application of risk management practises are effective and fit for purpose throughout Programme and that adequate support is provided to the project teams.
Maintain, review and improve processes for risk management at Business Unit, Programme and Project levels.
Act as champion for Risk Management within Business Units, providing guidance and support to the project teams and the mentoring of PMO Analysts within the team.
Providing guidance and support in all aspects of Risk Management to enable project teams to meet their objectives.
Support the Director of IT with regards risk management and requirements.
Review Risk Management recommendations from Project Assurance Reviews, identify trends and develop solutions.
Preparing reports on risk for management and other key stakeholders. Provide summarised reports to Business Unit Directors, Director of the Programme and other key stakeholders as required.

Business Knowledge

Knowledge of delivery of projects in a utility, development, infrastructure, oil and gas or process environment.
Understanding of the wider business and impact of Projects.
A detailed understanding of the specific Risk Management processes as part a Governance Framework Manual
Ability to articulate and present risks in their strategic context and assess suitability on actions needed.

Essential Functional / Technical Skills

Expert Knowledge in using Risks Management techniques applicable to the Risk Management Process.
Must be a flexible professional capable of quickly understanding business processes and able to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
To have knowledge of Quality and Project Controls Management
Able to demonstrate a level of experience commensurate with the membership of a professional body or association, demonstrating continual profession development.
To have a comprehensive knowledge of tool and techniques in risk management and approaches used in a wide range of industries.
