We have an opportunity within a leading automotive client, based out of their Warwickshire head office. Position Description:
Powertrain Research delivers new technologies to support future powertrain requirements. This role is with the Powertrain Systems Research team who are responsible for the exhaust, air intake, urea, and fuel systems. This role provides a unique opportunity to be a part of future powertrain development. Monitoring future powertrain technologies and developments in academia and the industry, Creating new research projects and identifying suitable worldwide external partners (including universities) to collaborate in this work, Project manage research and development activities using suppliers, CAE and design teams, cross functional project teams and management. Report to senior management at required intervals. Organise and run vehicle, engine, and system tests. Analyse data and recommend design changes. Identifying funding requirements and source for projects.

Skills Required:
1. Excellent planning and project management skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic, good communication skills (both verbal and written), and a good team player.
2. Good working knowledge in at least one of powertrain systems: Primarily Exhaust or Fuel Systems. Air-intake and Urea systems may also be considered.
3. Working knowledge of automotive powertrain requirements concerning performance, fuel consumption, emissions, durability, NVH, and quality.

Experience Required:
Engineering analytical skills & PC skills, Good working knowledge of alternative/advanced materials , Good knowledge of automotive industry, including competitor and market awareness ¿ Experience of high level programming and analysis tools, Experience of CAD tools such as CATIA, Master degree desirable.

Education Required:
Engineering Degree

Additional Information :
Primarily based at Warwick University Science Park but must be able to travel frequently to other sites (Gaydon/Whitley) as well as external providers (Universities, suppliers, consultancies)
