Quality Systems Engineer
Northampton (commutable from Peterborough, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Leicester)
£30-35k

Quality Systems Engineer to facilitate and lead improvement activities that relate to quality improvement. Participate in and support activities involving compliance with applicable regulatory and Quality Management System requirements, coordinate and execute plans to maintain an ISO-certified quality system.

In addition, the purpose of the Quality Systems Engineer is to plan and carry out internal Quality Audits of the Quality Systems. To report to management any concerns found, identify corrective actions, recommend system improvements and assist in development of quality systems/techniques.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained through product conformance to agreed quality standards and processes. The responsibility of the Quality Systems Engineer will cover the entire supply chain, from supplied parts to MPT through to delivered components at the customer.

If necessary, he/she will support the Purchasing department through the selection of qualified suppliers and improvement of supplier performance to provide a positive impact on the quality of a project.

Support preventive quality assurance within project management. Support for New Product Introduction, for supplier selection, supplier monitoring and development, as well as driving quality management related continuous improvement activities.

Further Responsibilities
" To monitor, investigate and progress quality alerts/concerns
" To adhere to corporate QM Schedule on quality reporting and quality planning
" To conduct Management Review to meet ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements, in line with corporate schedule.
" To identify improvements and assist in development of quality systems / methods
" To analyse all elements of the QMS and Support process owners in reviewing and updating their processes for adherence to the criteria of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, customer specific requirements and corporate procedures and policies.
" To ensure that the Group processes are integrated into MPT where possible and updates maintained to the latest levels
" To plan and coordinate Internal System Audit and IATF 16949 respectively ISO 9001 registration audits as required.

Requirements
" Experience in Quality Management within the automotive sector, R&D and/or Manufacturing.
" Good knowledge of quality management tools (APQP, FMEA, 8D, MSA, SPC etc.)
" Good knowledge of standards (TS16949, ISO9001, VDA, AIAG)
" Quality Auditing
" Problem Solving
" IT Literate (MS Office)
" Good verbal and written communication skills, with an understanding of German an advantage
" Knowledge of Change & Project Management, with demonstrable experience an advantage
