Our innovative automotive OEM client who produce electric and hybrid vehicles is looking for a Quality & Conformity Engineer to join their new manufacturing site based in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Quality and Conformity Engineer, Banbury Cross

Reports to:

Head of Homologation and Quality


To ensure that vehicles produced continuously achieve the quality standards laid out in engineering specifications and maintain conformity with market specific type approval


-Develop and Implement Quality Instructions and Work Instructions issued for quality issues
-monitor manufacturing processes, quality data systems and continuous improvement opportunities in order to implement the best practices in our operation on daily basis.
-Take responsibility for management and resolution of quality issues, liaising with the appropriate engineering teams to resolve issues and/or deliver improvements across product lines.
-Lead and facilitate work with engineering teams to identify, contain and resolve warranty / in-service issues
-Develop, Implement and operate defined processes and reporting to raise the Initial Quality/non conformity and the necessary problem solving document appropriately, ensuring that the responsibilities are met and customer expectations maintained.
-Develop and implement an appropriate reporting structure to ensure problem landscape is clearly communicated to the Supply Sourcing team and appropriate suppliers.
-Engage with stakeholders at all levels to steer the problem resolution process and to challenge proposed solutions using product knowledge and awareness of quality tools.
-Ensure the Problem Resolution Landscape is progressed to closure in line with defined processes and supported by appropriate problem solving document and lessons learned identified.
-Ensure third party actions onsite are dealt with efficiently and effectively and containment activity is transferred to suppliers as quickly as possible.
-Deputise on specific meetings and lead projects as required.
-Support internal audit for quality assurance compliance (ISO 9001, ISO TS 16949)

Technical Expertise

"BEng or higher degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or other engineering technology discipline
"Direct experience in product manufacturing quality role
"Knowledge of appropriate quality tools and evidence of their application to solve complex problems in a manufacturing environment

oStrong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
oExcellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills with the ability to motivate and support team members to help drive delivery of the implementation of 'build' documentation
oWell-developed communication skills with the ability to quickly forge quality working relationships at all levels.
