Project Manager - Training Site Planning

Our medical device R & D client based in West Sussex is looking for a Project Manager to join them on a 12 month contractual basis to join their training team to plan a facility for a new machine.

Job Description

With an emphasis on business preparation and site planning activities you will be part of a cross-functional team working in the training of new medical systems. You will apply your technical, planning business and leadership skills in working in a customer facing role and also within a large high value product creation project.

You will be a person who is able to negotiate, share and publish knowledge by working closely with customers, project managers, architects, civil, mechanical, and electrical and HVAC engineers.

This role also brings you into close contact with the regions and order fulfillment and services functions as you prepare and plan the initial first of kind installations.

As a task oriented, flexible and driven person you will possess both technical academic and professional qualifications in an engineering discipline. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are needed as is the ability to identify stakeholders and solicit support as the Atlantic program moves into the next stages of product and business development.

To be the interface between the Education and Training function and the end user customer for all Training site planning, preparation and delivery.
To represent the interests of the Education and Training function including the end user customer in Training location feasibility, preparation and readiness for use
To ensure that the Training Facilities are ‘fit for’ delivery, installation and service
To work cross-functionally to achieve Service and broader company objectives
To create and deliver project tasks

Excellent communication skills enabling dialogue with a wide range of customer and line management seniority
Good negotiation skills, capable of rational, structured and logical thinking
Excellent technical skills covering physics, electronics, electrical and mechanical engineering
Good business and commercial awareness e.g. basic cost accounting, ROI and NPV
Strong written and verbal skills. Output is concise and accurate
Excellent personal organization skills, task orientation, flexible and ‘can do’ attitude.
Willing to travel to customer sites throughout the world. This may involve travelling alone and/or working during some unsociable hours and weekends
Proven ability to represent yourself and Elekta in a professional and positive manner at all times

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential
Project Management experience
Ideally an HND/HNC Electronic & Electrical/Mechanical engineering or scientific background
