My client is looking for a number of Project Managers to work on the HS2 project. They are looking for candidates with experience of managing a portfolio of major projects, Rail sector experience would be ideal but is not essential should the candidates have the right skillset. However we are looking for Engineering/ construction projects experience.

The role

We are looking to recruit a number of Project Managers to join our Project delivery practice delivering Multi Million pound major infrastructure projects supporting initially the High speed railway (HS2) project. The roles will include managing experienced design and delivery teams within our Transportation division. High Speed 2 is a high-speed railway line connecting the major cities in the UK, The railway is being delivered in two phases. You will play a major part in helping lead the delivery teams for HS2 and manage the key HS2 client account. The roles will primarily be based in Birmingham.

The team

Our Project Delivery practice within our Transportation division provides support and guidance to the whole of Transportation in project management, project controls and quality and technical assurance. Project Delivery leads on our portfolio of major projects within both Strategic Rail & Highways. This includes functional leadership and standards for how we govern our projects.


Requirements

We are seeking a candidate able to demonstrate a high level of project management capability, who can ensure delivery to time and budget on large and complex design projects. You will be a manager with a proven track record in the UK infrastructure engineering sector and experience of managing large scale design and engineering programmes demonstrating proven abilities to manage multiple stakeholders. The appointed candidate will have a track record of successful delivery on engineering design/construction projects. Experience of managing construction programmes and administering construction contracts would be advantageous. We are looking for candidates with experience of delivering high complex Major Projects and we would welcome applications from high achievers from sectors such as Rail/Transportation, Construction, Petrochemical, Nuclear, Automotive or similar with the right skillset.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

• Project management experience with a proven track record in delivering highly complex major engineering/construction projects in a timely and safe manner.
• Well developed communication, negotiating, influencing and inter-personal skills, with the drive and commitment to achieve project objectives.
• Commitment to provide inspirational safety leadership and ability to deliver high standards on health and safety.
• Proven track record in establishing and building relationships with suppliers, client/contractors and internal stakeholders.
