Telematics System & Services engineer- Connected Car
Swindon (commutable from Reading, Oxford, Andover, Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester)

Telematics System & Services engineer to be a member of the Connected Car Department. The key responsibility is the coordination and progressing of multiple projects with suppliers and stake holders. The job requires technical coordination and management of proposals, design, development, test and quality of Telematics System & Services based on connected vehicle information systems, smartphone, cloud and web technologies.

Responsibilities
1. Coordinate & Manage technical integration of Telematics Control Unit Hardware to Telematics Backend System.
2. Coordinate Technical development which involves 3rd party Developers, Consultants & Suppliers.
3. Coordinate Telematics Backend System and Services for European Market with other business units to achieve agreed targets
4. Handling multiple projects which may involve research themes, development for production launch, enhancement & maintenance of products already launched into the market.
5. Technical writing of Product Features & Specification.
6. Preparation of RFI, RFQ, Proposals and Contract Negotiations.
7. Development & Testing Schedule preparation, monitoring, reporting & rebasing when required.
8. Plan & track project cost and resource utilisation.

Requirements:
" University Degree in Electronics Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
" Knowledge of Telematics Backend System architecture involving TSPs and IoT Gateways
" Knowledge of Telematics/IoT Protocols
" Knowledge of programming and computer science fundamentals and a deep love for technology
" Excellent IT skills (Excel, Power Point)
" Experience in development of products involving Hardware and Cloud Backend Systems interaction
" An adept communicator, able to build good relationships across all teams
" Be proactive and demonstrate high level of self-motivation to deliver
" You will need to have a flexible attitude and stay focussed under pressure
" Knowledge of Connected System Security measures is desirable
" Experience in coordinating iOS & Android based App development is desirable
" Experience in telematics related supply chain (OEM/ supplier) is desirable
" PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification is desirable
" Knowledge of regulation relating to data protection/ telematics services is desirable
" The role will require occasional travel overseas
