A Luxury automotive OEM is looking for an Electrical/Electronic Engineering specialist to lead the development of System Architecture and Attributes, for special vehicle programmes.

Project Engineer - Electrical/Electronic System Architecture

Location Gaydon
Standard Rates: 28-32 GBP per Hour

Job Purpose
Program lead of Electrical/Electronic System Attributes.
Representing overall status for EE integration at Program level for Gateway, status meetings and Program milestones.
Responsible for E/E System Specification and Whole vehicle EE Integration test planning.
Coordinate Prototype build support and issues resolution. Coordinate and manage sw updates and prototype vehicle sign off.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
To report overall EE system integration status to Program and at various key milestones.

• Manage Electrical/Electronic System Attributes
• Manage Functional Implementation Progression (FiP)
• Manage whole Vehicle status of Software delivery/milestones
• Manage whole Vehicle status of SCN coding versions
• Manage whole Vehicle status of ECU Diagnostic delivery/Maturity.
• Manage whole Vehicle Software download.
• Manage whole Vehicle Shutdown and KOL status.
• Key contact for prototype builds and vehicle sign off.
• Hands on Electrical System debug (Plant / Proto / Launch / Overseas)
• Assist in data collection and Analysis for Problem resolution
• Support system engineers in system validation.
• Coordination of Suppliers Part II specs / compliance
• Support Diagnostic validation and creation of Diagnostic help text (sub system repair).
• Support system engineers with Practical FMEA/SFMEA.
• Support and facilitate System reviews and system FMEA.
• Coordinate and collect DTC and sw part reads on engineering fleet.
• Support sw updates of prototype fleet.
• Ownership of E/E System Specification
• Whole vehicle Integration test planning
• Responsible for whole vehicle system qualification.
• During concept phase perform system reviews and EE analysis.

The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company’s objectives, commensurate with the grading of the post.

Qualifications & Experience
Engineering degree 2:1 or higher, or an equivalent qualification.
The Ideal candidate will have:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant Engineering role.
• Significant experience leading a team of Engineers
• A solid understanding and working knowledge of in-vehicle networks and protocols.
• a working knowledge of ISO26262
• Extensive experience of vehicle diagnostics, Developing, authoring, validation
• Experience of managing the delivery of automotive software and Feature Delivery.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to manage large workloads in a high pressure environment and prioritise accordingly.
Proactive approach to resolving issues.
Ability to develop recovery plans where necessary.
Must be able to project manage and develop a collaborative approach with other engineers.
The role is suited to a highly technical Systems Engineer with a collaborative leadership style who is able to guide the team.
