We have an opportunity within a leading automotive client, based out of their Warwickshire head office. Position Description:
Working as a member of a skilled and supportive team to deliver Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) systems for all vehicles. The EPAS system uses proprietary software which is adapted by the supplier to deliver functionality and tune releases. The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing the vehicle sign off and EPAS system integration. Ensure that EPAS software is released with required functionality to meet project build and gateway requirements. Manage EPAS software releasing and problem resolution in close co-operation with the component supplier and the interfacing teams. Developing engineering sign-off plans and software delivery development plans. Working with suppliers and cross functional teams to define functionality targets and ensure that the EPAS system meets requirements.

Skills Required:
1. Ability to author and verify EPAS functionality requirements to ensure that the EPAS system delivered by the supplier will meet requirements.
2. Ability to operate CAN tools to interrogate vehicle networks, read logs and use the data to confirm functionality or solve problems.
3. Ability to plan in detail software delivery and testing. Ability to perform testing to plan on vehicles at a range of locations (pre-dominantly Gaydon), report on results and resolve issues.

Experience Required:
Self-motivated, able to achieve results with minimal supervision. Experience of processes including WERS releasing, AIM, APQP, FMEA, RMDV Ability to project manage and develop engineering solutions which meet defined targets Ability to evaluate the performance and merits of output from suppliers or service partners to ensure that requirements are satisfied. Good team working, organisation and communication skills, able to foster good working relationships with colleagues and suppliers. Good PC skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Must be flexible with regard to multi-site working and be prepared to travel abroad if required, full driving licence.

Experience Preferred:
Working knowledge of chassis or EPAS systems. Experience of software or electro-mechanical systems. Recognised advanced driver training qualifications. Knowledge of functional safety, ISO 26262. Understanding of software development processes and software authoring in an automotive context. Ability to use CAD and virtual build visualisation tools.
