Project Controller

An international Defence and Aerospace company is looking for a contractor Project Controller to join its team in Portsmouth and support the economic success of its major spacecraft projects.

Job Description

The Project Controller will join a Multi-disciplinary team and will be tasked to cover the financial planning and monitoring of these projects.

The successful Project Controller must have a thorough understanding of the interaction between financial performance (Cost/Sales, Gross Margin, Cash & Working capital) and schedule, risk, quality and Contract.

It is also essential that the Project Controller will have an understanding of all financial aspects of a project and is capable of communicating these effectively to the project.

The project controller must anticipate problems and propose ways to improve the project financial position. Monthly reports and quarterly updates of the project financial status must be produced accurately and timely and include full explanations of the salient facts. The controller must be able to work closely with the Project Manager and be aware of the financial and development (Technical, Schedule) aspects of the projects.

As the Project Controller you must also be able to liaise with the contracts/commercial departments to ensure all changes (CCNs) and related works orders are actioned promptly to meet the financial requirements.

Essential skills and experience for this role include SAP/BW (SAP Business Warehouse), Microsoft Office Tools and Project Control.

Being ACCA/CIMA part qualified would be beneficial.
