Programme Coordinator - Purchasing
A high end, bespoke Automotive OEM is looking for a driven individual to manage the activity and deliverables within the purchasing team.

Standard Rates: 20-25 GBP per Hour
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Be the focal point in providing the Project co-ordination/management for purchasing programme activity and deliverables ensuring integration and adherence to "Mission" Gate Process and vehicle line contract requirements. Represent Purchasing and business interests across the company identifying and working to resolve potential variance to plan.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
o Coordination of purchasing program activities ensuring adherence to programme deliverables.
o Leading and supporting cross functional activity to ensure delivery of data into the purchasing team in line with programme requirements
o Support the creation of the engineering timing release schedule (ETRS) and track adherence to plan ensuring releases are received, actioned and returned in specified timing frames.
o Coordinate and lead activity to resolve deviations to ETRS plan ensure all deliverables are achieved and escalating risks where appropriate
o Support coordination of programme gateways for the successful completion of purchasing deliverables
o Represent purchasing at programme meetings including gateways, programme steering team, design reviews , launch control meetings and other meetings as required
o Lead programme sourcing , cost and timing reviews ensuring all sourcing activities are in line with programme timing and cost targets
o Lead and support the development and implementation of purchasing processes to support programme milestones ensuring all QCD targets are met
o Lead the coordination, escalation and resolution for identified programme risks.
o Coordinate and support purchasing activity for financial target setting process.
o Analysis and reporting of adherence to programme material and investment cost against target / contract.
o Coordinate Purchasing activities in terms of mitigating cost risks and realising opportunities in order to make a positive impact upon Purchasing programme performance
o Support development of programme specific commodity strategies.
o Collaboration with other areas of the business on maintaining commodity strategies which meet the short as well as the long term aims of the business.
The role will be conducted strictly in line with both Purchasing and Organisational policies and procedures.
It can require both UK and Overseas travel, sometimes at short notice, flexibility on working hours would therefore be desirable.
Provide Finance with information to enable setting of Programme financial targets.
Normal media associated with a busy office environment. Pool / Management Cars required to facilitate supplier visits.
A competent understanding of the Microsoft suite of office tools would be advantageous, as would competent Presentation skills.
Typical conditions associated with office and manufacturing environments both at Gaydon and the respective supplier's premises.
Supervision of Programme Buyers.
In addition the Programme Coordinator is expected to have commercial, analytical and interpersonal skills as they solve problems in areas where they have no supervisory influence, in many instances influencing those at a senior level.
Qualifications & Experience
Ideally the successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, and or a full member of CIPS or at least working towards it.
The individual should hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel where their specific work responsibilities require it.
A extensive Purchasing experience ideally within a manufacturing environment is required; however, of greater importance is the individual's aptitude and commitment to rapidly assimilate the needs of the role and to be quickly performing in the role, to a high standard.
A Driving Licence and Passport are essential.
