Production Team Lead to undertake the day to day running of a specialist assembly and test group on behalf of the manager. To ensure the production plan requirements are met whilst satisfying the quality and cost criteria of the business. Ensure items are built to drawing specification and associated documentation, and where required tested to a Production Test Schedule (PTS).

£30-33k

Production Team Lead to undertake the day to day running of a specialist assembly and test group on behalf of the manager. To ensure the production plan requirements are met whilst satisfying the quality and cost criteria of the business. Ensure items are built to drawing specification and associated documentation, and where required tested to a Production Test Schedule (PTS).

Responsibilities:
" The Production Team Lead is responsible for the safety and housekeeping of areas under his/her control and for ensuring that his/her staff meet and comply with the company safety standards. Responsibilities include the correct quality and cleanliness, calibration, protection and safety of the personnel and product within the areas of control.
" To conduct risk assessments for areas under his/her control and to hold monthly housekeeping audits as scheduled in the audit plan.
" To work within the Production Plan, ensuring product is delivered on time to meet customer demand resolving day to day staffing issues related to the production cells, including managing and approving holidays and absence.
" To liaise with other business functions to ensure all key activities are carried out effectively and efficiently. This includes but is not limited to Logistics, Planning, Systems Test, Manufacturing Engineering, Dispatch and Quality Assurance.
" To ensure the adherence to the quality system at all times.
" To ensure all non compliances applicable to his/her area are understood, allocated for corrective action and processing in a timely manner.
" To ensure the proper labelling and identification of all material within his/her area and segregation of non-conforming and production material.
" To ensure that uncalibrated equipment, or out of date consumables are not used and are segregated.
" To ensure that those tasks requiring updating and maintaining in the MRP/ERP system with regard to the receiving manufacturing orders are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
" Working as part of the departmental quality team he/she will contribute to maintaining and improving production methods and processes.
" Responsible for accurate data completion for logbooks and DHR's including sign off of completed data packs.
" To hold monthly DQT meetings with his/her teams.
" To develop and maintain the required skills within his/her areas to allow flexibility of staff to cover holiday and absence.
" To ensure visual management boards are updated daily.
" To hold annual performance reviews (GPM's) with his/her team and periodic reviews throughout the year to develop their team and address any performance issues as they arise.

Experience:
" Relevant industrial experience, with focus on Manufacturing in an advanced industrial environment which has a high demand on quality.
" Advantageous to have core skills in implementation and the use of lean methodologies and tools
" Documented leadership/management experience and skills, including Team Building.
" Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and working practices.
" Diligent with good attention to detail with drive to complete tasks.
" Organisational and leadership skills and competence in leading small teams.
