Our client is looking for a Electronics Production Manager/Production supervisor or team leader, who is looking to step up into a Production Manager role, preferably from the Aerospace/Defence Sector.
Job DescriptionJob title: Production Manager
Salary: £50,000 + £6,000 Bonus based on Team performance.
As the Production Manager you will have direct management responsibility for all 15 people within the Production group. You will be expected to move staff effectively between different jobs to suit changes in work patterns. The product range requires support of mechanical assembly, wiring and soldering techniques. You will be expected to manage all Production staff, delivering new and existing products and introduce new assembly processes and technologies with a view to continuously improve employee performance and efficiency.
You will be expected to assure product quality through best practice manufacturing processes and methods within an ISO9001/AS9100 environment.
As the Production Manager some of you other attributes will include;
" Communication of production plans, delivery status and performance measures.
" Strategic planning - Develop medium and long term measures to accommodate future trends and needs.
" Commercial awareness -The ability to ensure costs are fully understood and the application of this understanding to increase efficiencies.
" Minimum of HND/Degree in an engineering/manufacturing subject and a thorough understanding of Lean Management Principals and techniques
" A minimum of 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment.
" An appreciation of cost and works accounting within a manufacturing environment is essential. Knowledge of MRP, capacity planning and delivery methods. The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
" Problem solving is a major requirement of the job and covers the ability to understand technical aspect of designs and how these interact with process flow, understanding and resolution of root causes of manufacturing defects and the identification and elimination of process flow bottlenecks.
" Decision making on all aspects of projects and programs where delivery timescales, cost and internal timescales will be a vital attribute. All decisions should be taken after a sound understanding and investigation of all available options.
