My client are currently seeking a number of System Engineers to work on the application of our ETCS Products in the UK rail signalling market. The UK team is being expanded to meet the growing needs of UK projects and to complete the transfer of application knowledge from our ETCS Centre of Excellence in Belgium.

As a Systems Engineer (ETCS Product) you will be responsible for the:

-Analysis and Capture of customer requirements through the use of company processes and tools
-System definition in accordance with company Engineering processes
-Production of System Requirement Specification
-Production of System Architecture Descriptions
-Production of Sub-System Specifications
-Verification of requirements cascaded through System / Sub-System Specification with appropriate traceability and provision of evidence.
-Analysis of System change identified by the client / project
-Development of the appropriate technical solution
-Production of a resulting specification
-Delivery of work packages in accordance with Quality / Cost / Delivery commitments
-Participation in Configuration and Design Reviews within application projects
-Maintenance of the System Definition during the lifecycle of application projects
-Support and Delivery of tasks defined by:
-ERTMS Platform Manager
-Principal and Lead Product Engineers
-the ETCS Data Preparation Manager
-the ETCS Verification and Validation Manager

The Candidate:
-BEng level education in an engineering discipline preferably Electrical / Electronic Engineering
-3-10 years System Design experience (ideally Automatic Train Control / Signalling market)
-Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or showing progression to achievement
-Experience in Systems Engineering Processes (Change Control, Configuration Management, Requirement Management, System Design Process)
-Understanding of System Architectures
-Experience with ETCS equipment / technology
-Knowledge of Network Rail and European standards relating to signalling infrastructure
-Good team worker and ability to lead activities independently
-Strong ability to analyse complex technical requirements and interfaces
-High personal motivation and a proven ability to see a task through from start to finish
-Understanding of hazard identification and risk management
-Tenacious and demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail
-Good Organisational skills
-Good Customer liaison skills
-Good Supplier liaison skills
-Appreciation of designing safety critical systems.
